Bass Fishing

When in the woods last week with my youngest son and my good friend Mike, they were able to catch some nice large mouth bass on the nearby ponds.  The couple that I got shots on, the first was pretty small, but put up a good fight.  I was able to capture some breech shots as he tried to throw the hook.

The second was a bigger fish that my son caught!  I was proud!!

December Night Moon

I have stated before, I love taking pictures of the moon.  Tonight was a beautiful night.  You can see the seas of fertility, tranquility and serenity, as well as the crater Copernicus.  I’ll be investing i n a better telephoto lens soon, so I’m looking forward to getting better and more clear shots.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Surprise

I have to give credit my oldest son for being quick on the draw for this one.  Taken with his galaxy tab 10.1, this squirrel gave us all the surprise early one morning.  Jumping from the tree to the screen of a second floor window, this squirrel provided quite the entertainment.  Perplexed on what to do next, he didn’t seem phased that there were people on the other side of the window. 🙂

We are not sure if he made it back to the tree or not.

Panoramic Photo Experiment #2

With the storm front rolling through last night, I knew there would be a great opportunity for some nice cloud shots.  I went to a neighborhood nearby with a pond and setup for a panoramic shot of the clouds over the pond.  10 shots total to make up this panoramic.  A little post processing in photomatix pro and lightroom.  Here is the final piece.

December Reflections Part 2

On Sunday, I had taken a number of pictures to try to generate my first panoramic photo.  I was not sure how well it would turn out, but was pretty excited with the results.  All I can say is thank goodness for Photoshop!!  🙂

If you look closely, you will be able to see a couple of the pics from my original “December Reflections” Post in this one.

Let me know what you think!! 🙂

A Word a Week Photo Challenge – Light

First, I have to thanks Canadian Hiking Photography for posting his shots, or I probably would have never had the opportunity to do this!! (Amazing pics in the snow btw!!)  The idea came from Photo Extremist.

Of course, I had to try for myself.  Now that I know how easy it is, I will get more creative in the future with it.  Oh and btw, its a lot of fun.  I mean really what guy doesn’t like to burn stuff up.

*Safety Disclaimer – Safety is critical….Photo Extremist does a great job describing the necessary safety for this activity……use common sense.
